The Nation Of Blind Followers ...

Sometimes I feel very helpless when I see the way people of my country express their support to their so called political leaders... Without knowing much about, what that goofball is up to or whether he really deserves to be a so called leader... (I hate this word leader when it is associated with a politician :) ) Though the majority of them don't have the wisdom that would help them to differentiate the qualities of a Ideal leader and what they have in them... Even if I represent a mob of few, my duty towards them is to guide them by selecting a path which will really help them in reaching the most satisfying, joy-full and peaceful destination where their lives will have real meaning. They will thrive for living rather than committing suicides.

While writing this post, the news of arrest of a politician from one of the major political party of Maharashtra was a hot topic. Arrest which led supporters to go on rampage, vandalizing public transport vehicles and government offices, shops, almost every thing in their way. And unfortunately many of them don't know the exact reason why their god is been arrested. They just know that they support him and his party so they need to protest against his arrest. How pitty!!! (This draft is pending for a while now...Need to complete it ASAP ;) Mr Thakrey is outta jail and still post is unpublished)... Though its not possible to continue where I had left... I I would try to get me in-line with my original thoughts...There have been many incidences which have made me think that its not about the blind followers its about those who are not blind but pretend to be blind (may be because of the money and backing they get from their god). But what about those who are really unaware of anything who just for the sake of it show their support to someone who is enemy of his nation his people. And unfortunately those who pretend to be blind are always benefited for their pretension and for their ability to gather the real blind crowd. Pity!!!!

My Next Post- "They Have Scope and Hence Opportunity... Though its again as always a chance gone in-vain!"

Don't you think its too much of cricket...?

*I love cricket and this post is not against cricket its against those who are suppose to focus on other sports also and not only cricket.

*Its against those who have forgotten their first and foremost priorities...

*Its against those who are responsible for improvement of level of sports as whole in India but are only focused on making money...

Its not the case that I don't like the game of Cricket in-fact I play Cricket... then why this post?
Well there are 1000nds of reasons... I live in a country where a Minister of Agriculture ,Minister of Consumer Affairs & Food and Public Distribution, Government of India. has forgotten his responsibilities towards those roles and is seen more often watching cricket matches all across the world... May be he would have a point that he is president of BCCI (Board of cricket control India) a body which seems to have become more bigger than Government of India for him I wonder how he was once a defence minister of my country... The poor farmers are committing suicide but he is not at all worried about that... I call it as forgetting the responsibilities towards own country how about booting out such people...

Well above is just one reason for cricket being best if not played ;) Kidding...
I love to watch Olympic games... which country i support? surprisingly its not India.... any guesses why...
I am sure many of you would get the answer... ;) and that's the reason i support Russia... Now again where does cricket comes? Well unfortunately our government has funds for cricket only, media is only wanting to cover cricket matches and people my fellow countrymen they are also only interested in watching the same game (there can be many exceptions though)... about the Olympics we are no where near to other nations when it comes to funding and infrastructure... Its really a shame for worlds second most populated country to not to produce a single gold medal apart from Hockey... did i just say Hockey... that game is also dying again some credit goes to cricket... What about football... is there anyone thinking of making career in football i suggest leave India and go Some where else... Thanks to cricket (again i am not saying 100% cricket is responsible for that but to some extend even Bradman can't deny that) and its followers again... In short if you wont fix this cricket bug(as what we s/w engineer call it) otherSports gonna surely die...

It's time to show some courage and yes 'Creative Capitalism'

Before starting I would like to say "If Microsoft sacks even a single employee in the name of recession, then Bill Gates would be contradicting to his own notion of Creative Capitalism" :)

It has been almost 3 quarters now, that the world economy is stumbling with no immediate signs of finding the path to recovery. Why is so? The mega rescue/stimulus package from US the rescue packages from European and Asian economies are not enough? It may be the case that original losses at the beginning of the crisis were far lesser than sum of the rescue packages money. So are these packages are delayed a bit? I think no, the recovery is not possible unless the "media", "business leaders", "governments", "common investors" & "the banks" come together with positive thinking as if nothing has happened. Creative capitalism needs to be followed which focuses not only on profits but also tries to help the community. Hence instead of laying off the employees the bosses should find some alternative ways to cope up with losses, alternative such as reduced work hours should help prevent the negative sentiments and fears spreading. Media should not publish news such as company XYZ has fired XX% of its workers it only creates panic and the road to recovery gets longer and longer. The layoffs also inturn reduce the business by some way or other. The trillion dollar package from US Fed has helped some positive sentiments to float and hence helped the markets to go up a bit. Only the announcement has made the investors to look forward in some positive ways. I would say it would only help if the reality kept hidden and only positive news made public. Anyways after saying all this after being in the same sinking boat as we all are there are few things which particularly government should learn

  • Don’t let a single organization take so much control of the economy as the AIG, Lehman Brothers, Merrill lynch and JPMorgan’s of this world have controlled. Just don’t let them grow so fat and let the top bosses corrupt them so badly that it brings up economic crisis
  • Put some strict norms and measures on economic institutions.

Innovation and Success... are they related?

A thought came to mind when I was reading an essay in one of the GMAT tutorial. It was something related to the down fall of the Industries in United States. So it gave me a chance to think little more deeper on what all things Ii have been observing and what all the things I have read so far...

The para about the US auto industry being falling behind really makes me ask a question, "Innovation and Success do they really go hand in hand ?" Which implicates another question "is the innovation is the most powerful weapon for any product any organization any country to succeed ?" And I think its very true. And that is why the industries in the US started falling and gave away the leading position to the organizations from Japan, Germany and other countries. The key behind the success of these organizations was their innovative power which brought various new technologies and which the target user found very exciting and easy to use/operate in short they were friendly and with time and that's why they became popular and hence helped their innovators to gain the top spot.

One of the most classic example of this is the global Automobile Industry. US was the number one player right from the beginning till 2007 when Toyota took over as a leader. US was able to remain on the top spot from the beginning i.e since 1902 because the automobile was itself a innovation and very useful phenomenon to have happened to mankind. And since the US was the inventor it enjoyed a number 1 position the Fords and GMs were all sitting happy at top positions but they overlooked the competition around them and could not envision the need of time and the needs of people of today. I would say they failed to re-Innovate the automobile they just renovated the technologies they had and on the other side the Japanese innovated all the aspects of a ideal vehicle as per the needs/requirements of people from particular region. Toyota Tundra a popular pick up truck is an example of "Innovation according to Demand". GM which was earning $1billion /qtr profit had started sustaining heavy losses from mid 90s when introspected they found that the vehicles which they produce are not up to the mark in quality and do not give their customer a value for money and are being without any innovation in them. Which resulted in loss of leading position, losses & job cuts.

Ultimately only a good leadership and a market position is not the key factor to succeed and being able to persist at the top its always Innovation and Innovative ideas which really amuse and propel customers to try them out. The mind of a target customer is limited to what he has seen and expects something simillar to that but how about suprising him with something he never thoguht of and which will help satisfy his needs in very prommisssing and friendly way...

Need a Vision & Visionary leaders...

As I go on reading.... "The food price index of the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) rose by a steep but manageable 8% in 2006, but then much more sharply - by 24% - in 2007, and 53% in the first three months of this year alone - an unprecedented rise...." a report by David Loyn @http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7431734.stm Encourages me to think upon it and find the relative/transitive and might be the actual & exact reasons of this sudden steep...
One of the obvious reason for this is the increase in demands against availability. Increase in demand from countries like India, China and others have risen sharply. One obvious reason is inability of internal food production to satisfy the increasing demands in addition to this the governments have started cutting down the import duties so that the imports could be increased... Is that a correct and thorough solution to these crises? I don't think it is... I think this adds to the cutting off of the supplies to poor countries who can't import and are dependent on the UN and other countries who supply them food. Ultimately making the crisis more severe... Though whole world shows its curiosity and positive concern towards this I doubt whether the severity of this crisis is going to get controlled or is going to be more and more tougher to handle...
In order to resolve the crisis, Identification of necessary actions should be the foremost agenda of the G8 meet as the Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda has called for urgent action to ensure food supplies to poor nations struggling with sharp price rises the key would be to identify the exact causes and try correcting/prioritizing them in order to reduce down the inflation. Identification of necessary action does not means that not falling short in supplying the food to poor nations as one of the statements from UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon says that we will increase the production of food by 50% by yr 2030. But as per me this wont help unless we all(nations) take some firm initiative towards improving the agriculture and agricultural practices...
There is strong need of time to put agriculture and agricultural practices in first priority though it does not applies to the practices of increasing the production of corn for bio fuel it has hurt to its extreme to the environment(amazon destruction in Brazil ) as well as to the mankind as a whole...

This is time where in all developing as well developed nations are trying to to compete with each other on technology, defence and infrastructure front which again shows the thrust for becoming the supreme power... Leaving behind other and more important aspects like technologies to improve the food production... By 2030 the scenario will be much worse than it is today if we don't act.

World is in need of a Vision and Visionary leaders...

How aware am I and how am I helping Mankind? When I say I am also one of you...

Is it so difficult ?

When I first read something written about global warming, I kind of ignored reading the article thoroughly... may be I also had thought that is of no use for me cause its the issue to be addressed by big people and not by an common individual like me... I only realize how wrong I was when I again came across similar kind of article in TIME. And when I went deep I was taken aback...It was really a eye opener for me and must have been for all those who'd read it... Then I came across Al Gore's presentation and it was more shockhingly eye opener I felt helpless but tehre are things we can do on our levels and thats what TIME article or Al Gore is asking us all...If what Al Gore is saying about global warming is only 1%(i m not clamming) correct then also its the responsibility of every human being to try to take necessary efforts to fight the global warming...
